Task Lighting

Description
The
Task Lighting, or Work Light System was developed for the AAAV/EFV. The
system is used to provide area illumination at computer terminals located
in the Command variant of the vehicle. Each workstation is provided with
one or two cylindrical light tubes that contain a tri‑level array of
LEDs. These light tubes are driven by an individual Control Unit located
at the workstation.
Each
light element is capable of a "high" or “low” intensity
setting. In
addition, If night vision goggles are being used, there are provisions
for the crewmembers to switch to a blue array which is night
vision compatible. The vehicle commander can decide to switch the entire
vehicle into the night vision mode by disabling the white light settings
at all workstations.
Power for the task Lighting System is provided
by the vehicle's 24‑28VDC supply.
